Day 13, 14, and 15

In the interests of brevity, here are my past three days of Frocks - Saturday to Monday - just so you know that I'm staying on track with this dress wearing business. And while I did wear a dress on day 12, no evidence of this exists. So you'll have to trust me.

On Saturday, I went to a Luekemia Foundation walk with my family. Turns out this dress is good for running around in, dodging my insane brother's tackles, and (attempting to) kick the footy in. I do a mean drop-kick, surprisingly.

And yes, my mum and I do look rather similar. Her tongue isn't normally that blue.

Sunday - 25 degrees and hot. Turns out I've got some weird, dress-shaped sunburn from this frock and that sun. This is my number one buddy, Archie. He had just come out of the dam. Stinking. No frock, either.

And yesterday; well, yesterday, I wore a different dress than the one shown here, but it got cold (as only Melbourne forecast to be 27 degree can get cold), so I changed. But I thought Archie was a tad more important and adorable than my dress, so here he is again.

I bought this dress about a year ago this week when I was in Brisbane for a holiday. That holiday ended up being less fun due to some bad news I got upon return, but there are still nice memories of it, including meeting my friends Dave and Gen for the first time (they're getting married this Friday and just found out they're having a baby boy. How time flies!), warm Queensland rain, tasty Greek food, and sunshine after a Canberra winter.

Frocktober has, as of today, raise $100,000. I couldn't be happier and more proud of my clever friends for thinking up this concept. What an amazing effort from everyone involved!

Day Eleven....a little too coordinated.

This title does not reflect my ability to play tennis, or squash (or any type of sport, really). It's remarkable how uncoordinated I am. Maybe that's why I enjoy running - because it's pretty hard to stuff up one foot in front of the other. But you never know. I live somewhere pretty hilly, which increases the likelihood that I'll inevitably trip and go tumbling down Rucker's Hill one day.

Anyway, this outfit was rather too matchy for my fancy, but I was given the scarf as a gift in the afternoon and liked it so much I needed to wear it right away; just like Christmas Day, with kids running around in new PJs.

Happy Friday, everyone (or Mum. I'm guessing she's the only person reading my blog. Hi, Mum!)

Frocktober 2012 - Day Ten

As I mentioned previously, I was a bit of a late-starter to this year's Frocktober campaign - during which I make a point of wearing a dress everyday and hassling people about what Frocktober is, and what ovarian cancer is, and why it's important that we raise money to find an early detection test.

I haven't hassled my work yet, though; I'm building myself up to that one.

Hear is my dress from day ten. It is nice although it has some holes in it, and my boyfriend (again) took a blurry photo. He's making a point of it now.

My fundraising page can be found here: http://www.everydayhero.com.au/maddy_fox. It would be ever so nice if you could donate some spare change to the cause!

Nine days late is better than nothing, right?

So, I am undertaking the Frocktober challenge yet again this year. In the interests of full disclosure, I haven't properly participated in Frocktober for the preceding eight days....I wore pants.* A couple of times. And yesterday, upon rushing out of the house and grabbing the closest items of clothing (of the pants variety), I sat on the train, thinking...I would be much more comfortable in a frock.

That, and what a powerful message wearing a frock during October sends! I'd like to be a part of that again, and so here we are, frocked up and ready to go. This is a neck-down shot of my frock today, provided at this angle because my boyfriend ain't too good with the iPhone camera.

My Everyday Hero page will be up and running very soon (I somehow managed to tell Everyday Hero that I was underage, and now they're asking for a parental consent form. Mum, help?) For now, head to www.frocktober.org and find out more about our cause.

*To my standards, at least - Frocktober isn't exactly rigid in its requirements. The jury is still out on skorts, for example.
