Finally up to date with my posts...this frock is one I bought from Savers, but one of those expensive Savers items I'm usually repulsed at (paying over $10 at Savers...no thanks!). Hm. Funny story about that. Picked up a Burberry (with tags, brand new, and the real deal) velvet jacket at Savers a while back, but it was $30 and I was in the Savers mindset, so returned it to the rack, only to pass two girls five minute later saying "This is awesome...we can totally sell this on eBay and make heaps!". Boo.

Frocktober Day Twenty-Seven
Almost at the end of the month. Third time I've worn this one, but it's such a great work dress. It looks good with a suit jacket, which is pretty important for three reasons - I work at the AMA, I had a meeting with some State Opposition party members (Libs like suits, funny that), and jackets cover my tattoo. All important things to think of!
Also, my necklace, which is nearly impossible to see, was given to me by my grandma. It's really beautiful, but delicate. So I probably won't wear it all that much.

Frocktober Day Twenty-Six
So...I didn't get a photo of my work dress today. But it was the same one I wore on Day Fifteen...which I'm really going to have trouble giving back!

Frocktober Day Twenty-Three
Weekend frock time! I got this one at the good ol' Lara op shop ages ago, and this is the first time I've ventured out in it. As you can notice, it's quite floral and that's not really my thing!

Frocktober Day Twenty-Two
Frocktober has been so much fun. Not only is it great to be involved in such a fantastic cause, I love having excuses to wear dresses like this. Lent to me from Niki V, and this is going to be another hard one to give back. I wore it to The Drones concert last night, and was happy and encouraged to see many frocks there! Also had dinner at Coda...an amazing Asian restaurant in the city, highly recommend it! Not a bad back-up plan when Movida has a two hour wait...

Frocktober Day Twenty
Another frock repeat - I'm still not convinced I like this one. Flattering from certain angles, then at other angles, I look like the side of a house. Anyway, I've done pretty well not to repeat too many work frocks so far this month, thanks to some generous loans!
Frocktober Day Nineteen
Thanks to Judy C for this frock loan, and to Stella - I promise to give your scarf back (sometime...!)

Frocktober Day Eighteen
First day back in work Frocks. I've concluded that weekend Frocks are much, much more fun. Again thanks to the lovely Ms Bellett for the dress loan, which is super comfy. My necklace is from Elk. Apparently if it gets wet it'll stain, and I'll look like I have jaundice. I'm carrying an umbrella around today!
Frocktober Day Seventeen
Thanks to the lovely Claire Bellett for the dress loan. Who would've thought apricot suited anyone? My necklace, which is a bit hard to see, is from a lovely local (Torquay) jewellery designer, Sally Cook. The label is Run Around the Garden. You can check them out on Facebook. My badge is a super cool mirror badge given to my by my pal Justine...I think she even has a blog herself!

Frocktober Day Sixteen
Picked this one up at the highly successful and FUN Frock Exchange at Matthew Flinder's Girls Secondary on Friday night. There were some great finds there! (PS, thanks for the dress, Kate :D)

Frocktober Day Thirteen
Way too cold to not wear tights today, as it turns out...anyway, an old Theory dress I bought in the US a few years ago!

Frocktober Day Nine
So I can't find my Day Eight photo, but this is Day Nine...from a shop on Sydney Rd (now closed) called Dagmar Rousset, and I absolutely love it!
Frocktober Day Six
Frocktober Day Three
Checked out the UCI Cycling Championships on Day Three in Lara (where all the important people are). It was hot, and my unprepared winter legs saw the sun for the first time in a loooong time.
Frocktober Day Two
Dear Claire,
Thank you for the so called 'fat dress'. This has to be the most comfy one in my rotation so far...

Frocktober Day One
A bit belated, but this is the frock I wore to the Frock Launch at Beav's Bar, Geelong. Thanks to Niki for the frock and shoe lending. Also thanks to Niki's dad for the belt! This dress is amazing, but looks like a big ol' 70s mumu without the belt.
Frocktober is here!
Hi everyone. I'm completely new to this fan-dangled blog thing, so bear with me.
I've set this up so my dear friends and work colleagues believe me when I say I'm wearing a dress a day for Frocktober 2010. Frocktober was started (unofficially) in 2007 and incorporated in 2008 by my incredibly clever friends, with backgrounds in medicine, teaching, architecture, design and health.
Frocktober is a fundraising initiative which raises raise funds for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). Through fun – and sometimes quirky – measures, Frocktober is all about:
-Increasing the public’s awareness of ovarian cancer.
-Promoting women’s health and wellbeing.
-Celebrating the great diversity of shapes, sizes and colours women come in.
Frocktober has raised over $55 000 in two years time, and we're making great progress with our fundraising in 2010.
The symptoms of late-stage ovarian cancer are very general, and often mistaken for more common, less serious ailments.
There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer, and this is what Frocktober is raising money for. So, help support this frockin' good cause! Go to www.frocktober.org for more information.
